Andrew, I think this is a great idea. Are there some sort of administrative controls that you (or someone) can use to delete comments, in case some inappropriate messages appear?
On a side note, I'm really sorry that I won't be at SEF until April; so, we'll have to manage "goodbye" via email or facebook posts. I hope you enjoy your new job -- stay in touch (I guess that is an ulterior motive to setting up the blog?) :-)
